About FUE Transplant

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a highly refined method of surgical hair restoration. Using a small punch instrument measuring just 1-2mm in diameter, the surgeon carefully removes individual clusters of donor hair follicles. Because a punch instrument is used in lieu of “strip” harvesting, FUE does not leave a linear scar and generally causes less trauma to the scalp.

Robotic FUE technologies are now available to make the extraction phase of the hair transplant faster and more comfortable for the patient. Using high resolution digital imagery and advanced robotics equipment that makes measurements with micron-level precision, these “hair transplant robots” identify and carefully extract the fittest hair follicles for transplant. Following robotic extraction, the surgeon transplants each follicular unit by hand to recreate the appearance of a natural head of hair.
